    Problem Viewing YouTube
    « on: May 24, 2009, 09:47:34 AM »
Well, another week another problem. I'm running WIN2000, and IE6-SP1 and am suddenly unable to view videos through YouTube. I get a message that I either have Java script turned off, or don't have the latest version of Flash Player.

I downloaded Flash Player's latest, and the problem still exists.

I've made no changes that I know of to Java, but I also downloaded its latest version. I can find no switch to either turn Java script on or off anywhere.

I've looked through MicroSoft's Help section, and can find no answers. I've disabled my firewall and my anti-virus program, and the problem continues

Does anyone know how to determine if Java Script is running; or how to enable it if it is not?

well i know you said you didn't tamper your java but. go ahead and update just incase
      http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Try using the flash updater by
Going to C:\windows\system32\Macromed\Flash, and run FlashUtil9b.exe

      and if all doesn't work.

try uninstalling flash completely. then reinstalling it cleanly from the latest on adobe.com

I re-installed Java Runtime Environment, and the problem went away.
        Thanks

          Try Firefox

Thanks, but that's hardly a solution to my problem. I've tried Firefox and don't like it. I generally use Opera. However, I was asking for help as to why I couldn't view YouTube using IE6
