    Date and time
    « on: June 11, 2009, 10:59:44 AM »
Can anyone tell me why my Windows XP forgets the date and time between every one to two reboots, despite having this information re-set in CMOS on every occasion that it is lost?

You need a new CMOS battery.
There is small battery on your motherboard that's about the size of a nickel

You can get these batteries just about anywhere. Wal-mart or your local drug store will have them. You need CR2032.

Be sure to ground yourself while working inside of your computer - static electricity can fry your motherboard!

    Good Luck!

Rubber is an insulator. Just don't rub two balloon's together then there would be mayhem!

Two items of the same material pushing past each other does create static so as long as he does not rub his hands together in some sort of evil hand rubbing whilst saying 'mwah ha ha ha' he should be ok.

To be honest I've found that licking the case always works just fine for me.  It's even better if there's an earth fault.
