Please help: system won't even let me download your recommended malware tools!

Hi. I'm having real problems. My internet slowed right down a few days ago, and I tried using System Mechanic to sort the problem out. Ended up crashing the system. I'm backed-up, but now my system (Windows XP, I think Service Pack 3) won't let me start up Norton 360 or System Mechanic, or open Windows Updater. Whenever I try to use Google, using Firefox, I get redirected to eBay or whatever.

I started with your 'read this before requesting malware removal help' page, but somehow I can't download most of the programmes (SuperAntiSpyware, MBAM). I did eventually get Hijack This working. I'm going to copy and past the log of this below. I'd really appreciate any help you can give.
