hi,

I bought an Hard Disk earlier today, but it seems that the computer doesn't seem to let me use it... I just plug in the usb port, but he says "Installing new device" and then it shows that it could finish the install.

It is the MyDrive PLATINUM 320gb, from Best Media I guess...

my computer is a Compaq Presario CQ50 Notebook PC, with an  AMD Athlon Dual-Core QL-60 1.90 GHz processor and 2GB RAM.

appreciate if you could help me out ASAP.

Go Start, and in "Start search" type in:
devmgmt.msc
Press Enter.

Disk Management window will open.
Right click on new drive, click "Format".
