How do I stop the dual boot option? Thanks!!
« on: July 16, 2009, 11:59:18 PM »
Hi,

I currently have 2 hardrives installed in my computer, one harddrive has vista on it and the other used to have windows 7 installed. (I have just formatted the harddrive that had windows 7 on because I would like to use it as a storage drive) The problem is each time I reboot my computer I am still getting the screen prompt that asks which windows I want to boot to. I would really prefer it if just booted straight into Vista without asking me this, I nolonger have windows 7 installed and it's just a bit of a pain to keep getting this message. Thanks!

      Hi Crafty.
      I think simple hiding the Windows7 boot option would be a most simple and safe way.
Right-click on 'My Computer';
select 'Properties';
click 'Advanced system properties' on the left side of the window;
on 'Advanced' tab click 'Startup and recovery' settings;
make sure Your Windows Vista set as default operating system in drop-down menu and clear the checkbox prompting for 'Time to display list of operating systems'.
