    pc wont boot to windows with video card plugged in

    pc wont boot to windows with video card plugged in,my pc suddenly wont boot to windows few hours after i use it this morning.what happens is,when i try to switch on my pc this afternoon,i noticed that when i pressed the power button,the light indicator for power and process did not turn on,after few seconds it turn on but no output in my monitor,and after 3 to 8 seconds it just reboot it self.and same thing happen again with the light indicator,and just repeat the same process.but after i removed my video card and used my onboard video card.it booted normally.what do you think is the problem with my video card.i checked for any blown capacitors on the video card but,i did not see any. please help me resolve the problem.

    Did you disable the onboard video in the BIOS when you installed the new video card?

      RAM might be another troublemaker. Check your RAM sticks, from my understanding RAM has a big part in the working condition of video cards.

        yeah onboard videocard is disabled.this just happened after i turn of my pc this morning.an this afternoon it just wont boot anymore with the videocard.all i did this morning is watch a movie.i did nothing to make my video card overheat or something

            yep,i tried reseting but nothing happens.i put in the video card again today.and it worked  ??? i did not do anything i just plugged in again the video card and it works now.dont know for how long it will stay working.but if anyone has encountered the same problem.or knows what is the problem,kindly help me,so i can prevent this thing to happen again

                Sometimes simply removing and reseating ram sticks and video cards provide enough abrasion to remove minute film or corrosion from the pins making them usable again.

                  you could try a contact cleaner an see if there not dirty.  A soft earse will supposbly work too.
