    Windows XP - User Accounts - Folder sharing
    « on: August 25, 2009, 07:15:15 AM »
    I have created many user accounts with limited & password protection.

    I made some folders, shared & give the permission to each shared folders.

    When I access my computer for shared folder from remote computer with option START >> RUN >> \\<computer name>
                             On some computers it asks for the password that I want... but on
                             some computers it opens without asking the password.

    I checked manage password option, but nothing stored under it. I tried with changing my computer's administrator password, it still open from remote computer withoput asking the password.....please guide......

      It should only  prompt you once if your admin passwords are the same, unless you're on a domain. Then policies can be set.

        Thanks for reply....On change of admin password it should ask for new password. but it can't.
        I just want to clear all stored password in the computer.
        This setup is not on domain.

          Start > Run > CMD >Net User Administrator /Active:Yes [enter]

          Net User Administrator PASSWORD

          PASSWORD = your new password.

          Do this for each machine. You won't have to confirm the password.
