cannot boot from optical drive
« on: September 06, 2009, 10:09:36 AM »
I am trying to install the vista 64 bit upon my vista home premium system but the problem that i am having is that i cannot boot from my optical drive in order to install.

i have 2 hard drives and 2 optical drives.

i tried going into the bios and placing the optical drive with the windows cd as the first bootable device followed by the harddrives.

I tried moving around the jumper connection at the back of the optical drive with the windows  cd but i am really getting a hard time as exactly where to move it.

Sometimes i get the error message "could not find boot manager", please help

When you see "cannot find boot manager" you are booting to the hd, not the cd. Just put the cd at the top of the boot order in bios, SAVE THE CHANGE and exit bios, insert a BOOTABLE cd in the drive and reboot.
