    WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE runtime error PLS HELP!
    « on: September 12, 2009, 03:50:04 AM »
Hi guys, I need help. From time to time, recently after I installed several programs, and deleted them after finding them not useful, I began experiencing some problems.

    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

    Runtime Error!

    Program : C:\Windows\Explorer.EXE

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way.
Please contact the application' support team for more information.

I am using ASUS Laptop, of vista premium 32-bit, and ATIRADEON HD3470 graphics.

Thing's I've done but failed to solve this: installed registry cleaners, fixed errors, scanned for viruses with original kasperspy(detects and denies some intrusion by certain IP,program =explorer.exe),installed latest ATI drivers for my graphics card, installed latest Visual C++ Express 2008.

First, DO NOT USE REGISTRY CLEANERS.

Second, when do you get this error message?

Please download VEW and save it to your Desktop: http://images.malwareremoval.com/vino/VEW.exe

Double-click VEW.exe then under Select log to query, select:
    Application
    System

Under Select type to list, select:
    Critical (Vista only)
    Error

Click the radio button for Number of events
Type 20 in the 1 to 20 box
    Then click the Run button.
Notepad will open with the output log.

In Notepad, click Edit > Select all then Edit > Copy
Reply to this post, click in the reply window and press Ctrl+V on your keyboard to paste the log.

Oh and this error message happens randomly , at any time even if I am afk, it justhappens.

        And also
        C:\Users\Kim Long\AppData\Local\Temp\WER3C92.tmp.version.txt
        C:\Users\Kim Long\AppData\Local\Temp\WER584D.tmp.appcompat.txt
        C:\Users\Kim Long\AppData\Local\Temp\WER5948.tmp.mdmp
These 3 programs, just caused a problem to me. After restart of my comp, they appeared, and caused explorer.exe to STOP running, and I had to use CTRL+ALT+DEL to start any tasks from task manager.

The latest ones are caused by BSODs.
        You may as well...
        Download BlueScreenView
        No installation required.
Double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

However, it's a bed time, so I'll take a good look tomorrow.

Hello again, with reference to the BSODs, I had restarted my laptop, therefore when I went to run the program, it didn't record anything down. What's next for me?

          Make sure, debugging is enabled...

          1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel (Start>Control Panel in Vista).
          2. Double-click System.
          3. Click (Advanced system settings link in Vista, then --->)the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
          4. Make sure, there is a checkmark in Write an event to the system log.
          5. In the Write debugging information list, click Small memory dump (64k).
