I have an external Hard disk. I want to install antivirus software in which

Can I do so.

Could there be a conflict between the protection program on your computer. And protection program is located on the external Hard disk

You can only install one anti-virus program.  It will protect all drives connected to the computer on which the anti-virus is installed.
