    RAM at wrong speed in Windows, but OK in BIOS
    « on: November 11, 2009, 06:53:26 AM »
    hello... yeah, i guess this old comp has all the wrong speed stuff in it.

    the RAM i got for this Desktop, which the BIOS correctly identified, is at 400MHz.

    but when i use CPU-Z, it tells me the speed is only at 200MHz.

    why? is this the program's fault, or is some setting screwy?

    board: P4P-800-E
    memory: Kingston KVR400X64C3A/1G

    Don't you already have a thread on this? If so, you should not post the same question more than once - it only causes confusion.

      the other one's about CPU. this one's about memory... i thought ppl'd wanna concentrate on one thing at a time.

      but im sorry if it causes any confusion,

      DDR-400 (PC-3200) memory operates at speed of 200MHz.  Data transfer rate is 400MHz.
      DDR=Double Data Rate; 200 *2 = 400
