Cannot start in safe mode.Geting blue screen..please HELP

I have been infected by some sort of Trojan.I have been able to get rid of this in the past by going into "safe mode" and using system restore.I am running Windows XP sp3.I cannot even stat computer now.When I was first informed of infection I was able to start windows normally...I tried  to start in "Safe Mode" a few times and got blue screen.Now I am unable to start windows normally at all.Any help or suggestions GREATLY appreciated.I am not a expert so please bear with me....Thanks
