installation halted when expanding files

i suspected my previous hardisk was infected by virus or maybe hardware problem i don know, therefore i took it out and plugged it into an external hardisk casing, and backup all my files from that hardisk at another computer, and i did...however, i bought another new hardisk which is 500GB, which i wanted to replace the old one, coz the old one was quite small only 150GB and was using windows XP pro, there after i placed my new internal hardisk which is brand new, without any windows in there into my computer, which is the desktop...and put a windows 7 DVD in there, and i thought it could help me to clean up and install new windows there...and then i waited......everything went fine, but during the installation process where first is COPYING FILES, and then Expanding files around 50 or 60 % it stopped, and then it shows

Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available and restart the installation. Error code.0x800706F8

Or sometimes it shows blue screen, the one with

if you see this at the first time, please blah blah blah....

i have tried 2 different Vista DVDs installation...and 1 windows 7

all cannot....either it shows the blue screen, or stopped only..

i also tried the repairing options....which is useless as well....

please help.
