keys on keyboard not working right
    « on: November 28, 2009, 12:30:27 AM »
my 3 year old got hold on my laptop and now some functions on the keyboard like the arrows, page up, page down, home, and end, do not work right. also the number pad is built into the letters so that you have to push Fn to make them work, well somehow that is now reversed o that i must hold down the Fn key to use the letters. I am running windows xp.

    Thanks in advance, Bunafireman825

What is the make and model name/number of the laptop?  Is there a sticker on the bottom or perhaps under the battery that supplies this information and/or possibly the product number?

Sometimes it's useful for us to view the documentation provided by the manufacturer on their download/support website pages.

It is not a name brand i had it built by a computer shop in  my old hometown, the stickers under the battery are, RE7752201633 1FL91 05      next CFL91965G1,  Stickers on the bottom are 10-7019-05020, another in a diamond 2002/95/EC , Another showing battery ratings has model: FL91

        model: FL91

The ASI FL91 is a barebones Intel laptop sold to companies for building to customers orders or for resurrecting a dead laptop. "If you have a late model notebook with a dead motherboard you should already have all the parts to build this new notebook."

        Look at page 2-11

Also check if some keys are stuck down or gummed up with baby drool or foreign matter? Could the child have poured liquid into the keyboard?
