getting my usb only laser printer to print
« on: December 27, 2009, 12:36:37 PM »
I have been using a home-brewed (in basic) data management program for about 20 years, on a series of computers running DOS 3.1 and subsequent. I now have a (relatively) new Dell Dimension3000 running XP and a hp2600n color laserjet. The computer has a serial port (along with the usb) but the printer does not.
Now I can't get the data or the program itself to print. Everything else prints just fine, in LIVING COLOR!
Is there some command I can put into my batch file to get  back to work????

What I think is going on is that your program doesn't have any USB drivers.

you can try something like this...

Frankly I think you may want to look at a rewrite with something newer like .NET

You can also look into this....

And one other thing you can try....
