    xp sp1 wont boot. it just reboots even in safe mode

    Xp sp1 wont boot it just reboots even in safe mode.

    I have removed all programs from the users start menu's. I have also tried recovery console.
    I would like to use msconfig but windows wont boot.

    any ideas?

    If it won't boot how did you remove all programs from the start menus?

      Put the hd in a second computer as a slave.

      What led up to this - what happened since the last time it booted normally (new hw, sw, virus, error, etc)?

        don't have any info on how it got this way. just saved about 50 gig of data.
        Its a HP and the f10 partition is not working. I guess ill do a xp install.
