That's a windows program. It won't run in Linux. (unless there is a Linux release, but I don't think so)

edition...

and No. UNLESS there is a Linux version, and AFAIK Rockstar hasn't released a Linux version or the source.

However, you <could> run it in WINE, which emulates the windows API. Not sure how well it would work, but it's worth a shot.

I am assuming you mean desktop "edition", as BC already stated you cannot in stall a windows game in linux unless its compatable with linux, you can port it in wine. good place to start is here http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=3780 (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=3780)

The main difference between Kubuntu and ubuntu is that Kubuntu is based off the KDE desktop manager where Ubuntu is based of Gnome. (That is the main difference that I can find)

You can use that to try to run your game as well. I would suggest to visit their website http://www.playonlinux.com/en/ (http://www.playonlinux.com/en/) and use the guides and help files to better understand how to make the game work.

If you are looking for a really simple put the disk in and double click, then click next 5 or 6 times I would suggest you install windows to play GTA  :-X

Please stop writing "edish". It is not an English word. You have already been asked this.

That is because Linux does not know what to do with EXE's until you have Wine installed.
So i can't play Vice city or san andreas?
You can with Wine. Vice City works perfect in Linux. San Andreas works good.
ok how do i do that?
ok i downloaded a prorgram called playonlinyx.deb will this do anything i whatched a vid o youtube.
To install Wine, go to System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager. Type "wine" in the search box. When you find it click the check box, and then choose "mark for installation". Then click apply at the top of the program screen.

Now close Synaptic. Install (double-click) the Play On Linux .deb that you downloaded. After this open play on linux. Choose install, after click games on the left-side. Find Vice City, click it to highlight it and then click apply. If it want to download something, let it. Insert you CD when it asks and follow the on screen directions. When it is done it will be in the play on linux menu and all you have to do is click run. These 2 games should run perfectly. But not all games will.

Follow this and there should be no problems. If there is post back and I'll try to help you.

First of all I'd like to say that you don't need PlayOnLinux to play your games. Wine is all that is needed, now that you have Wine all you really have to do is double-click the exe to install it.

However PlayOnLinux is a graphical front-end for Wine, but the advantage is that is adds in extra goodies to help your games run better & is easier to use for the beginner. So it is better for you to use PlayOnLinux.

There are several ways to install PlayOnLinux, I recommend this:
1. Open Terminal (located in Accessories menu)
2. paste
Code: [Select]
sudo wget http://deb.playonlinux.com/playonlinux_karmic.list -O /etc/apt/sources.list.d/playonlinux.list and hit enter. type your user password and hit enter again.

3. When it is finished enter following command and hit enter
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get update

4. When the last step has completed use this command
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install playonlinux

PlayOnLinux should now be installed successfully. You could have also installed from the file on your flash drive. But the advantage with this way is that you'll also get the latest version updated.
