Title: my computer only picks up 16 colors--HELP!!!

My computer only picks up 16 colors---not the 24 bit that it should pick up.  I have tried every troubleshooter there is and I still cannot figure this thing out----HELP!!!  I can barely see this box I am writing in---everything is showing up gray if its not a standard color---PLEASE HELP ME!!  Thanks!!

Install and/or update videocard drivers.
