Title: ROBO FORM / Form Filler - Help Needed Opening/Running a Disc
Post by: MomNEEDShelp on April 02, 2009, 03:04:10 PM
Hi all. I do have another post going but do not want to cram so many questions in one post. (Hope that this is an acceptable practice ???)

Anyway, my Sony desktop crashed the other day. I had a new Hard Drive installed and recovery disks were used. PC is good to go. Trying to tweek it back to the way I am used to having it.

QUESTION:
I had a form filler program called ROBOFORM on this PC before it crashed. I had MANY years of passwords and stuff saved there.

When I brought this PC to the Geek Squad at Best Buy the other day to see if the PC could be repaired, I was told the hard drive went. They were, however, able to make a disk with my ROBOFORM passwords. I can not get the disc to open the list of passwords. It asks me where I want to open the and give me a list of choices. (Paint, notepad, adobe etc.) None of them will run/open the files so I can see them.

This was a program that I paid for. How can I make the disc start to fill my forms again when I am at certain sites? (Gee, hope I am making sense)

I just realized I never downloaded the ROBOFORM program onto this pc.  Does that have anything to do with the disc not opening??

If I go and download ROBOFORM, how does it know who I am. How will it know about the disc full of passwords? How do they recognize each other?

HELP PLEASE..........My Passwords are VERY important to me.

Thanks!!

Their support stinks!!

Should I download the FREE version and then somehow run my disk??? Will that make RoboForm recognize my passwords & link them to this PC??

I am soooo lost with this.

I don't know what you mean by ... P.S. Save the the compressed download to a disk for a backup    Do you mean the disk that best buy backed up for me that I can not open??

Ok, I downloaded the program and found passwords and order number. I now have a RoboForm PRO account.

Problem.......

(Best Buy burnt a copy of my Passwords onto a disk)
I went into RoboForm -> Options -> User Data --> Restore.  I get a pop-up box called BROWSE FOR FOLDER. I see a folder called MY ROBOFORM DATA.
I click on it and get a gray box RoboForm Error:

Cannot copy Roboform folder 'C:\Documents and settings\Denise\My Documents\My Roboform Data' to folder 'C:\Documents and settings\Denise\My Documents\My Roboform Data'\Default Profile' because:
-Source and Destination folders are the same, or
-Source folder is inside destination folder, or
-Destination folder is inside Source folder

I am sure the data I am looking for is on the MY ROBOFORM Disk.

I think Best Buy put it on an E drive. Does it belong on a C drive?
(lol... I am starting to almost not even understand what I am saying, nevermond what I am doing)

I had saved the file to my Desktop. I THINK I tried to change the folder from E to C.  I did the whole process again ( I went into RoboForm -> Options -> User Data --> Restore) and got the same error. (above)

PLEASE--- CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?

put the best buy disk in your CD player and go to it when you get the box that says browse for folder.....

SPOLIER: Which do I choose to open it? (Play Media Files, View Slideshow, Play, etc. )

The HEADING ON THE BOX STATES:   090331_1103 (E:)
