Title: Replaced MoBo battery. Dell Optiplex GX 240.
Post by: Hennessy on July 31, 2009, 09:52:29 AM
I was given a Dell Optiplex GX 240 and had to replace the battery on the mother board. Went into the Bios and reset the time/ date etc. I am not trying to install Win XP Pro. At boot up I get a warning the Primary and secondary drives were not found. Went back into the Bios where it says that the floppy, cd rom and hard drives are not installed. What am I doing wrong? Thanking you in advance, Hennessy.

Double check the drive cable connections, they may have come unseated while you changed the battery.

Also in the BIOS make sure that the controllers are enabled, they may have disabled without a battery to hold the settings.
