Title: This has to be a joke...
Post by: dairyman on October 02, 2007, 04:03:13 AM
I recently was looking at Windows Firewall in Control Panel, and it says at the top:

"For your security, some settings are controlled by Group Policy."

 ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

I can't even start the PC Tools Firewall Plus service.
It just returns "Error 5: Access is Denied."

Would it be safe to delete the 'WindowsFirewall' key in the registry?
Help!

Click Start, Run and type Regedit.exe Navigate to the following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Microsoft \ WindowsFirewall

Backup the key and then delete the WindowsFirewall branch.
Close Regedit.exe and restart Windows.
