Title: Installing XP without floppydrive
Post by: neonh on April 05, 2004, 09:43:52 AM
I got a laptop which I want to format, but there is a problem:

I can only have either CD-rom or floppydrive installed. If I format the harddrive, I will need a bootable XP-CD. How can I know if my CD is bootable? - or is there another solution?

Put the CDROM in the drive and re-boot the computer.

To be honest you don't really need to reformat as xp will give you a choice during the installation process of deleting and creating partitions.

The problem is that when I put the installation-CD in the drive, the computer still run windows. I try to get into the bios to change the boot order and enable multi-boot, but after trying all the keys on the keyboard I still havent got in there...
