What does it mean by .sit extension?

I downloaded internet connection keeper from here

http://www.download.com/Internet-Connection-Keeper/3000-2148_4-10297261.html

and it got downloaded as .sit extension.

When i tried to install it , it said could not load, or asking for a folder to open
