Title: Direct3D
Post by: Alex10 on January 24, 2008, 04:38:37 PM
I can't seem to get my Direct3d working, when I try starting one of my games it tells me to make sure all my drivers are installed so I've already done that. When I go run the Direct3d test in dxdiag I get these messages

Direct3D 7 test results: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x80004005 (Generic failure)
Direct3D 8 test results: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x8876086c (error code)
Direct3D 9 test results: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x8876086c (error code)

Any idea of what I can do? I've already reinstalled Directx9 and my video card drivers. Thanks

Windows XP home
ATI Radeon HD 2600 video card
1536mb RAM
DirectX 9.0
AMD Athlon XP 2600+, MMX, 3dNow, 1.9GHz

Not really sure whats wrong so I don't know what other extra info to post.

Did you make any changes recently? Like updating the video driver.

No, when I reinstalled my drivers I used the one off the CD that came with the card and that one has worked before.

Try updating the driver and see if that works then.

That didn't work, but I did find another fix so I don't need any more replies. Thanks anyway.
