Title: Vista - Can't open jpeg files on older CD
Post by: undeze on July 09, 2007, 02:16:32 AM
Hi,
I have a HP computer with Windows Vista. I have a CD with jpeg files on it that I made a while ago on another computer (non-vista). Whenever I insert the disc into my new computers disc-drive the autoplay function seems to stall at the 'searching for content' stage. The only other bit of information that may be useful is the file system is CDFS (from right-clicking the properties function).
Can anyone provide a solution to this one?
Thanks!
Chris

Have you tried the CD in another computer?

Hi, Yes, the CD works perfectly with a Windows XP computer. Other CD's work on my Vista machine too?

Did you use a specific program to put the images to the CD, or did you just make it like a Data CD?

Some program's may not be compatible with Vista if you did it like that.

P.S. I'd wait for someone else to come along as I've no experience with Vista at all, just a guess from me here.

The only other bit of information that may be useful is the file system is CDFS (from right-clicking the properties function).
That doesn't make sense.  Per http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CDFS, "CDfs is a virtual Linux file system that provides access to individual data and audio tracks on compact discs."  Was that CD created on LINUX machine?
