Post by: k_mohsen on December 24, 2009, 03:02:23 PM
Hello
I lost my favorites list in chm file (php_manual.chm) after reinstall Windows XP Pro.
How can I backup them? Where they store?

Thanks

Do you mean the favorites of your IE web browser? The folder of favorites is located in "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Favorites" by default. It could have probably been trashed during your reinstallation. You may refer to some data recovery software like Handy Recovery or Final Data to retrieve the data. However, since new data has been written on the place where your favorites data is lost, I am afraid the successful rate is very low..But it is worth a try.

the favorites is not for IE, some CHM files have favorites. so you can mark some pages for next reading.
I lost the favorites of some CHM files.

You don't say what kind of 'reinstall' you did?  Did you do a search for .chm?

if you reinstalled XP they are gone they are not stored with or near the CHM file itself.

They are...until you do a re-install.
