Title: Tor and VPN what's the difference?
Post by: notahopeinhell on May 14, 2015, 10:55:07 PM
Hi, everyone

I'm not very computer savvy but have heard of Tor and seen on a politics forum the mention of using VPN in countries where regimes don't like dissidents!

I've had a look at some info. but am still a bit confused for example is Tor a VPN and if you use a VPN do you still search the web with Google or whatever search engine you normally use?

I've seen CyberGhost on a review site as a free VPN and thought I'd give it a go but is there any problem removing it if I decided not to keep it?

I also don't understand how your ISP cannot "see" what you are searching for even if you are using Tor or another VPN.
Hope I've posted this in the right place and any info. would be really great. Thanks.
