Post by: oldguiser on May 01, 2006, 12:37:25 AM
I have as custom built computer, with windows xp. My computer is supposed to have a 2.4GHz pentium 4 processor, but it has decreased to 1.7 GHz. I have no idea how this happened. I really don't want to pay 100 bucks just to get it checked, so if anyone acan help and tell me how to fix it I would be really thankful. I don't know what other info. you need but you can help me out on that

Have you done any monkeying about in the case? What computer or motherboard make/model? Usually the processor is set automatically or with a jumper depending on brand.

Run Everest Home and see what it tells you the processor is.

What happened prior to this or how long has it been this way?
