Post by: jem18 on October 18, 2014, 06:39:59 PM
Please helpp! I'm trying to change my Jpg file icon but it says "you have customized files with extension'Jpg." To restore these files to their default type (ACDsee 9.0 JPEg Image), click restore. I downloaded a pro acdsee and want to make that my default then change the icon for it but i cant.!!!

Did you try right-clicking - Properties - Opens with (General tab) - Change then choose with the specified programs already? Otherwise, see here http://files.acdsystems.com/english/support/acdseepro/4/help/Content/1Topics/9_File_formats/IDDH_FILE_ASSOCIATIONS_VISTA.htm

yes i have tried that but it still doesn't change the 'restore' button to 'advanced' so that i could change the icon. Do you have any more knowledge about changing another program for images as default?

Did you try another program to open with and or revert first and choose Windows Photo Viewer? Same steps as my last post.

Pardon me. Can I ask a question.
Why is this important to the OP?
You can always open a file with your favorite editor or viewer regardless of the association or icon. Icons are visual aids. That's all.
