Title: Another error...
Post by: Baldir on February 03, 2009, 06:40:02 AM
Hi again everyone.

Yes, here I am again, with yet another problem.

I just bought Starwars Battlefront I, cause I played it once when I was with my nephew. I really liked it, so I bought the first one.

Now, before I bought the first one, I downloaded (illegal unfortunately, I couldn't find it in any store) the expansion for it. Starwars Battlefront II.

Now, I installed it, mounted it to play, and there also was a patch included (the no-cd crack/patch).

I however wasn't able to install the crack. I copied it to the exact spot where it should be, but I couldn't execute it.

This error appeared when I tried to execute it.

I can't open both tabs, and nothing happens to, I don't get any message, just these 2 tabs pop up.
I thought the problem would be cause I downloaded it, but when I tried to launch the game without trying the crack, I received the same problem.

So I went looking for Star wars Battlefront II in the store, but I only found I.
I bought it, installed it, and when I tried to launch, guess what, SAME THING HAPPENED.

I thought this was the same problem like the War craft problem I had, so I tried to run in compatibility mode, but still the same thing happened.

Is there a way to solve this? If so, please help me.
If you don't want to help me cause I download stuff, well, the world ain't perfect...

If you need info about my laptop, just ask. But normally the game should work on my laptop...

Cheerz,
Baldir

I forgot something.

Whenever I try to start, I first receive a message.

It says 'No TnL detected on your display adapter, do you want to continue?

Yes/No'

I have no clue what this might be...

I would un-install everything and then install just the paid for version of Starwars Battlefront I. Don't install anything else like patches, cracks or anything and see if it will run. If it doesn't work stop there and let us know. If it does work try installing the patch (not the crack). Does it work now? If so continue installing and trying things one step at a time until it stops working.

Hey,

I don't know if this in important, but sometimes (not always) these errors pop up when I try to install.

(This is second hand, not sure what the exact term in english is, but I'm not the first owner) and something my laptop has difficulties reading the disks, but after a few attempts, it runs fine .

These are the 2 errors :

Baldir
P.S. reinstalling SWBI atm

P.S.S.

About the crack thingy, the folder was called Crack, but the file was just a patch I guess with a no-cod modification in it.
For another game I have, Divine Divinity, (which was bought honoustly) there is a new patch to which includes a modificatiion which allows you to run the game without cd...

When I first pressed launch, this appears:

Hey,

I started to download the patch they said me to.
I first tried to launch without the patch, which is still downloading atm.
Same thing happened, FATAL tab opened to, and I couldn't open any of these tabs...

What should I do now?

Maybe no one has any background with this game...
I'm moving this to the Games section to see if you get any bites over there...
Best of Luck.

I have patience, but I'm waiting for quite a while now since I first posted my problem... There's a limit to everything you know...

well when what I suggested didn't work I ran out of ideas.

As far as the patience thing goes you have two options.

1. Continue to patiently wait for some one that knows how to fix your problem to volunteer their time to help you. Since no one here gets paid for the assistance they give they tend to help people as they can and when their time allows not when the person with the problem thinks they have to have it solved by.

2. If you can't wait to be able to play a game then you could always look for additional help elsewhere

Actually- a bump once a week would be acceptable. I usually don't go past my first page of unread posts. Sorry I can't bring anything relevant to the issue though  :(

I don't want to be ungratefull, but it sometimes takes a while before some1 finally posts something. And when I post something like my post above, I get replies.

So yes, I'll wait, but I hope it's worth it...

you've waited this long and yet done nothing to find out what your actual video adapter is. check device manager.

It sounds to me that your drivers are not installed properly or your card is not returning the proper GLstrings or DX caps for the game to realize that the card has TnL... or it doesn't have TnL in the first place.

I haven't told anyone cause I don't know where to find it  :'(... I told you guys I'm a noob.

All my other games work properly, so I don't know what's wrong?

Hi again guys.

Take a look at this link please.

Click here (http://forum.dvdrbase.info/pc-games-emulation/41273-tnl-not-detected-your-display-adapter.html).

This guy has almost same problem.

But I don't really understand much of what they say.

Also, I don't think I'm able to download a more recent Graphic driver from ATI. When I got my new hard disk and they tried to reinstalled my drivers, they couldn't install the ATI graphic driver cause it was to new or just didn't worked on my laptop, so they found an even older version which finally worked...

Is this more helpfull to you guys?

Greetz,
Baldir

Also, I tried to do what this guy did (about the driver thingy)

This is what I could find so far :

Chiptype : ATI U1 (C6)
DAC-Type : Internal DAC(350MHz)
Memory and something else, space? (it's in Dutch so I have to translate) 16 MB
Adaptersignseries : Mobility U1
BIOS-info : BK5.0.0 VR001.000.006.004.010.000.001.001 c

a 16MB Graphics card is not going to be enough to run Battlefront...I have played it before, and even on m 128MB 9700 Pro it was barely playable on medium with a 2.5GHz Celeron...then I tried BF2....i just about cried.

I guess there is no way to update/upgrade it for free, not? ;)

Guess I'll just have to wait till I ever get a better laptop/computer.
Otherwise, how much would a new graphic card be (like kinda very new, with almost all new features) and would it work on a 6 year old laptop?

Also, I have Halo, and my graphic card is a bit to low for it, but it still runs. Graphics are slightly worse but I'm used to it and it ain't that bad.

Is the graphic card able to stop the game from launching? Normally it would just start but with horrible graphic then, not?

A laptops graphics card is very rarely upgradeable.

If the graphics card's specs do not cover what the game needs, then yes you are correct in saying that the game will not open.
