Ran into a similar issue years ago with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET Professional 2002 on a Celeron 733Mhz. I figured since it stated it would run on a Pentium II 450Mhz that a Celeron 733Mhz would work, but I got the same error message and Microsoft Support told me to get a Pentium Class Processor system to run it on, so $600 later I installed it on a Pentium 4 2Ghz without issues.

In your situation the only hit I find online for this processor incompatibility is with people trying to run Exchange Server 2010 in a virtual environment, although there are lots of complaints of i5 having issues with Server 2008 OS.

Not sure if your running into this CPU config issue with Server 2008 http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/334844-28-2500-features-missing (http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/334844-28-2500-features-missing)

Unless I'm misinterpreting Microsoft's specs, you need a Xeon processor to run Exchange (seems strange though). Alternatively, you could run it in Hyper-V and tell it that it has a Xeon.
