To go along with Admin's 'What was the first game you've ever played?', I thought I'd ask the question "What is your favorite game of all time?".
Doesn't matter if it's a console, arcade, or computer game.
For me, I'd have to say it's a tie between Final Fantasy III (SNES) and Space Quest 5 (PC). Both of which I wish they'd redo and re-release.

What if I would say Snake II Classic on Nokia 1100? :D
-
goldeneye007 for n64.
-
Well I am going to be very predictable; favourite game;
"Starcraft"
great story, great mood to the game, great race diversity, great and simple campain editor - can't wait for the next installment - it has been too long

ah yes, i was thinking about console games, but i agree, starcraft was, and still is, an awesome game.

It's a game, so if it's your favorite, fine by me ;D

Right, now, I'm for StarCraft also. Unfortunately, it'll be another year at the least until SC2 comes out... and Blizzard haven't released any (hardly any) information about Zerg yet!

My own game, Hit and Run! (http://geocities.com/gamerx365/har.swf (http://geocities.com/gamerx365/har.swf))
lol jk...
I liked Grand Theft Auto 3... Also I like GTA Liberty City Storries because its in the same city but more weps and vehicles and stuff.

My favourite game has always been mario brothers.

My favourite game has always been mario brothers.
I still have a working Super Nintendo and I still play the games on it, including Super Mario World, Actraiser, and the Final Fantasy games. While I do enjoy today's games, I just don't think they make them like they used to. I think a lot of games made now, especially console games, have lost that little touch.

Final Fantasy Tactics.
Nice music (despite my preference of metal).
Nice, fun, involving, long lasting gameplay, with brilliant character development.
This game is what i would call a real RPG, along with final fantasy 7, 8, etc.
I also envy those with the PSP (new) version of this game, since i awaited it's release
onwards from june, and realised in august that with my PSP not capable of playing
games anymore (probably due to myself having dropped it one time too many times),
it would be pointless getting the game.
It came out here (Australia) a few days ago i think.
-
Final Fantasy Tactics was an excellent game with a great soundtrack, despite Nobuo Uematsu not being involved in it (the composer of most of the other FF games).
-
He wasn't?
That's news to me.
I'm surprised it turned out the way it did then.
Now that i think about it a bit more though, it did seem slightly different. the music suited the scenery more fittingly than in some other FF games.
In my opinion though, after Tactics, number 7 had the best soundtrack, and surprisingly made some of the tracks slightly better by revamping them in the FF7 movie.
I've also attempted recreating these musical pieces on my guitar, and not ashamed to say, they sound pretty good..
-
The FFT soundtrack was done by Masaharu Iwata & Hitoshi Sakimoto.
Sakimoto left Square in 2000 after finished the soundtrack for Vagrant Story to work freelance, but came back later to work on more soundtracks, including FF XII, FF XII: Revenant Wings, FFT Advanced and the new FFT game among other projects for Square Enix.
-
I wasn't too impressed with the vagrant story soundtrack to be honest... Or the game in general for that matter. The gameplay was decent, but nothing spectacular. There were some good, original ideas in the game, but it was just lacking something IMO. Would you happen to know why Squaresoft is now SquareEnix? I think i found out a while ago, but i don't remember.
-
Enix took over Square in 2003 when they became the majority shareholder in Square's stock. They merged the companies, appointing Square's president Yoichi Wada president of the new company. The joint staff was divided into 10 teams: 8 to continue Square's series of games (such as FF, Mana, and Front Mission) and 2 to do Enix games (Dragon Quest and the Tri-Ace group (responsible for games like Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile)).
The merger was actually supposed to happen earlier than 2003, but after the failure of Square Picture's 'Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within', Enix decided to wait a while because they didn't want to be associated with the terrible financial loss from the film.
The new company also now owns Taito Corporation (since 2005 I think) and Gangan Comics (publishes Japanese manga such as Fullmetal Alchemist, owned by Enix before the merger).
-
That explains why the second movie was so much better than the first. I expected a let down at first, but it became apparent pretty quickly that it was thought out a lot better, and actually stuck to a final fantasy storyline...
Thanks for the info.

I would say red alert (1, 2 really sucks)

either the neverhood or the zoombinis ... tiny bit sad for my age but still!
Zoombinis was a good game, used to play it a lot back in the mid-late '90s. Still have it at home; I saw your thread asking about it on XP so I can test in a few days whether it works on XP (or Vista).
All time favorite is Civilization III, though. Such an epic feeling to control an empire and conquer the world. Civilization IV set the RAM requirements too high and lost the epic feel thanks to small maps as a result, so I'm sticking with and having lots of fun with Civilization III.
Funny enough I think Zoombinis is the only previously mentioned game I own.
-
There is only one game I play: Solitare is the name. ;D
-
solitare is awesome lol. i play it all the time at school and even at home a lot.
-

what about hearts? its actually really fun to play with 3 friends.
-
in the future, my favorite game is grand theft auto IV
-
Favorite Game of all time? Thats a difficult decision- after much deliberation, I have composed a list of my favorite games. For some reason I felt compelled to provide a paragraph with each(?)
1. Super Mario Bros 3. NES.
not that GBA one (SMA4) I have never played the GBA version, because I've, erm- already played it :). If I want a better version of an NES classic I'll hack the ASM myself rather then pay Nintendo twice for the same bloody thing. (am I one of the few people left who actually PAID for SMB3? In this age of ROMS.....
2. Super Mario World
again, not the GBA. WAY too close to SMB3. almost wanted to declare a tie. I think one day when I revisited this game in ZSNES, I think I beat the game like five times in one day. why? I was trying to record a Movie of going through the entire game, but the movie would lose sync around the first ghost house. (of course, I'd only see this when I played the movie back, AFTER beating the game...)
3. (this is a fairly large tie)
<Doom,Doom 2, Quake, Quake 2, Duke Nukem 3d>
(note the exclusion of Doom 3 and Quake 3 & 4?)
4. Age of Empires Rise of Rome and the original
I swear, when I discovered this game almost ten years ago, I played for three days straight (NO SLEEP). I couldn't get enough of it! although to be fair I'm sure that Command & conquer would have had the same effect on me if I had played that instead.
6. Age of Empires 2
(including the Conquerors expansion)
when I first played this, I thought it was AMAZING. I mean castles and all sorts of REALLY huge buildings! No more temples that look 12 feet tall (first AOE).
7. Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun (And Firestorm)
not much to describe here. just really cool. Especially with engineers, just like on the other C&C games.
-
There is only one game I play: Solitare is the name. ;D
what about hearts? its actually really fun to play with 3 friends.
I just found out how to win the game, you have to have the LEAST number of points and avoid the queen of hearts.
-

lol. less is better.
-
I will have to say Starcraft. There just isn't any beating that game down. Starcraft is still booming right now. And Starcraft 2 is almost here!!! I will have to agree with others that 007 on N64 is up there pretty high as well.
-
Silkroad online great graphics lots to do besides quests.. pvp..war..to name a few
-
Actually, I have another favorite game.
It's called Icy Tower.
Try pressing F5 when the game starts in fun mode.
-
Descent 2 for me, but i often feel that i'm to young for this game. the fanbase (which is like a very small cult) of people around their thirties. still fun though!@!!

1. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
2. Super Smash Bros Melee (Gamecube)
3. Zelda: Ocarina of Time (n64)
4. Mario Kart Double Dash (Gamecube)
5. Wii Play (Wii)
I changed my top 5 a bit 'cuz I've been playing other games and because I downloaded Zelda: Ocarina of Time (that game really kicks *censored*! ;D)
-
Tricky one...
I've been playing games since 1980 (with some breaks obviously!) & still play all the old games with emulators for just about every console: Arcade (MAME) N64, Megadrive, SNES, NES, Atari, C64, Spectrum etc etc
Modern day:
1. Pro Evolution Soccer 6 (PS2)
2. Colonization (PC)
3. Super Mario World (SNES)
4. Championship Manager 93 (PC)
5. Mario Kart (DS)
Retro Arcade:
1. Bubble Bobble
2. Double Dragon
3. Kung Fu Master
4. Ghosts N Goblins
5. King Of Boxer (aka Ring King)
If anyone would like any help on how they can play any old games on their PC just let me know...
;)
-
Im goldeneye as well . N64.
Great game, I still play this from time to time - still haven't got round to completing it.
Another one for the N64 I love is Banjo Kazooie.
-
Alright, some more favorites:
1. Simutrans
You collect goods and transport them to consumers via road or rail. You can also create your own public transport network.
2. BVE
Allows you to drive a train on your computer.
3. Flying Model Simulator
Control a plane using a keyboard or joystick.
--EDIT 2--
I think the Simutrans problem was caused because it didn't like my CPU. But other users don't have problems.
-
For me, I'd have to say it's a tie between Final Fantasy III (SNES) and Space Quest 5 (PC). Both of which I wish they'd redo and re-release.
where can i find space quest 5...
by the way
i like:
1. Tomb Raider2
2. Shadowrun from SNES at around 1989??
3. Mario
4. chip challeges

2. Sonic the Hedgehog
3. Resident Evil
4. Street fighter

Am i the only one?
-
I'm not real sure 1. Resident Evil 2. Final Fantasy 3. Zelda of course I liked the Donkey Kong Series too but your not all old enough to really remember.
-
I am a teacher and I sort of stumbled across King's Quest VI as part of some free software at my school a very long time ago! Got curious-played the game and just loved it! Then I started teaching it to kids-as bonus time for getting their academics done. I have yet to meet a child who does not love this game. Then I decided to collect all of the KQuest series. Was delighted to get it as a package from the internet cheap. It does not have lots of violence but has humor and high interest for ADD children. So now I am hooked. Have not played anything else-don't have time right now.
-
i remember kings quest, awesome game. its a shame they didnt keep going with it, i would have loved to play it with todays graphics and sounds.
*EDIT*
questfan,
do any of the kings quests run on windows XP?

questfan,
do any of the kings quests run on windows XP?
I know this question wasn't directed at me, but I do know the answer which I actually pointed out to someone earlier in this thread, but it's gotten so long I wouldn't be surprised if you missed it.
All of the Quest series (Police Quest, Space Quest, King's Quest) and the LSL (Leisure Suit Larry) games were re-released in 2006 (?) as collections that claim they work in Windows XP. What Sierra did was include a custom tuned version of DOSBox, a free DOS emulator. Being a huge Space Quest fan, I purchased the Space Quest collection of course. It runs pretty well. The only issues I had were with an occasional crash of DOSBox (which is still in BETA testing) and my video card doesn't display 320x200 quite right. The pixels should be slightly rectangular and not square. Other than that, I'd say it works pretty well.
If you have an older version of the game and not the collection, you can download DOSBox from http://www.dosbox.com (http://www.dosbox.com). It takes a while to learn how to tweak it, but it works well for most old DOS games. I've also run The Dig and Full Throttle in it. Worth a looking.
-
dosbox works good , my favorite game is hexen beyond heretic and i finally get to play it again

You know, I think I would have to add Tron 2.0 to my favorite games of all time. I got bored the other night and pulled out a bunch of old games for a walk down memory lane. I ended up playing clear through it twice in the same day. I really liked the Tron movie as a kid and the game really held to the ideas from the movie.
-
i would like to add the greatest *free* game of all time for me would be TrackMania.
PLease DL it and give it a go. Its an online racer and its a lot of FUN!

favourite games
Dota (warcraft 3 mod)
UT '99 Instagib
Gta:Sa
free games has to be the old shareware versions of doom and duke nukem 3d, played those things to death.
-
I absolutely ADORREEEE Final Fantasy III, for the SNES.
I'm not exactly a fan of the series, but that is actually the first FF game I ever played, and it's still my favorite of the series, and of all games.
I use to sit up when I was twelve at my friends house with his copy of it that was chewed up by his dog and beat it in a sitting, those were the days, when I had time to do those kinds of things. Even if they weren't the healthiest. xP
I also like Shining Force I and II for the Genesis.
And have yet to play the SegaCD ones, but I can't wait. ^^
And GainGround for Genesis if you just want an easy to play two player game.
I find it more of a thing to sit around and talk while playing than to actually get into, it's not too difficult, but I think it's fun. ^^

omg lol ive been so addicted to pokemon games on gameboy lately. lolz. they are really awesome games... i dont like pokemon but i like the whole adventure thing
-
omg lol ive been so addicted to pokemon games on gameboy lately. lolz. they are really awesome games... i dont like pokemon but i like the whole adventure thing
Ha Ive been playin them since the original came out. They are great games, though too many people think it is childish, which it is not, especially if u think of battling competetively. There is a lot that you need to do "train" them correctly, things called IV's, EV's, Breeding, and many other things. Its a great series.
Tho my all-time fave games have to be SOCOM and the Zelda Games...
-
yea i stated collecting the cards about six years ago, then i started playin pokemon when i got Pokemon Ruby Version, and in the past year i have started on Pokemon Gold Version and it is AWESOME. but one ? were do you get the generator parts for the pwr plant after you defeat the burgular who stole them?
-
Are you talkin bout Gold? If it is, here is a guide: http://www.psypokes.com/gsc/walkthrough.php?part=1
I would just tell you what to do, but I havent played Gold since it came out YEARS ago...
-

IL-2 1946 WWII flight sim:
http://www.pacific-fighters.com/en/home.php?skin=S2 (http://www.pacific-fighters.com/en/home.php?skin=S2)
Player lobby with all game setting variations: http://hyperfighter.sk/ (http://hyperfighter.sk/)
If you love to fly air to air combat , dogfighting, bombers, ground pounding this is the flight sim. Up to 128 player close in air to air combat. Huge on-line community. You just need to invest a little cash for a joystick and perhaps a tracker ( as shown on the hyperlobby homepage ) and you're set.
A friendly warning: 1946 is extremely addictive!
-
I'm sort of likeing Enter the Matrix know even thought that its not really long I like how it is. I mean aside from everything. Cause I dont see to many games at the time that where like this, its still cool some what.

-
The "Final Fantasy" series remains my favourite, since the mid 90's.
-

I know what you mean. Yes pokemon can be childish, but it's one h**l of a challenge to train them for competitive battles (which makes it a bit less childish :)). It's too much for me though, I don't like spending hours and hours of getting the perfect pokemon. I'm only playing it for nostalgic reasons now, I even restarted pokemon firered a few weeks ago. Great games, but they're all pretty much the same. The best games for me will always be the Super Mario games. :)
-
Started plaing grand theft auto again. :P
FF was all ways good but there really long. I had 9 an got me hooked.
-
Favorite game? CURVE BALL!!!!! (http://www.addictinggames.com/curveball.html)
-
Final Fantasy III and VIII
Chrono Triger
Breath of Fire III
Secret of Evermore
Lufia (All)
NFS U2
But the best is Oblivion
-
Final Fantasy III and VIII
I've been meaning to play FF games a little more. I have NEVER played any of them, except the first one, and I'm about halfway through the second one. I always found it funny that they have so many games with the word "final" it their names.
Chrono Triger
Chrono Trigger is awesome! I recently started playing the playstation version after playing through new game+ about a million times on the SNES version.
Also re-installed my favourite GTA, GTA2. runs much faster on a 1.6Ghz as compared to a 350Mhz! I haven't even managed to get the first GTA to run playably for some reason...
As I speak though I am progressing through a Yoshi's Island hack, SMW2+2.
NFS U2
Personally I thought the franchise made a distinctive break with it's roots after Hot pursuit 2. Personally I only managed to play any underground game when I manually changed all the music to queen, zeppelin and skynryd- makes it funny to think that some street racing type would be driving to "whisky rock a' roller".
So we have:
The Need For Speed | Need For Speed 2 | Need For Speed 3: Hot Pursuit | Need For Speed:High Stakes|Need For Speed:porsche Unleashed | Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2
and then, uh- the rest. I'll admit I don't really know a lot about them, they are definitely good games in their own respect, but it just seems like such a large change...
-
.hack but its been a good while since I played it or seen the show an forget alot of what happened.
-
Zork... Cant beat good old ASCII text games.... No No ..... "E.T for Atari 2600" ...Just Kidding!!!!!
How about ....hard decision since I have played so many games .... Unreal Tournament Series
-
Flatout2 would be my second along with all GTA's and Driver's, and carmagedon I and II (although crappy graphics 12 years after its making to play today but awsome on my 486DX2-66mhz Tomato Board with 24MB Ram, and Trident 1Meg ISA Video Card back in 1996)
-
.hack but its been a good while since I played it or seen the show an forget alot of what happened.
I don't believe it, you actually seen .hack//sign , its my ultimate fav.
Kool!!

I'm not sure if it was or not but I miss plaing it. :-\

I can't wait for Minesweeper II - Sweepers Revenge 8)
-
How many times have I said this about minesweeper!!!!!
I even once said I'll marry the person who teaches me minesweeper(offer not valid anymore though)
I made so many posts about minesweeper, why can't I ever win it?!!!! >:(
-
Cause the precentage to win is lower then looseing at it.
-
minesweeper is pretty much randomized every time u play and if you do some math then you could find the probablity of were theres a mine in a space or not based upon the area of the playin feild.
-
Thats what they thought about slot machines :o
-
except you cant rig the minesweeper game ;)
-
You could thought not sure why you would want to really.
-
You could thought not sure why you would want to really.
well, you could hack the dissasembler for three months, making it so that pressing the top-left square will reveal all the mines and win. Then when your friends come over (assuming they haven't already given up on you after your three months of hacking the ASM of a inconsequential game that is included on windows PCs), you can AMAZE them by winning really fast!
Thats what they thought about slot machines :o
There was that group of people that got the board to a Video Poker machine, spent YEARS working on a small computer that would predict (by being given a group of consecutive draws that it could reverse-engineer the randomizer seed from) when a royal flush would appear. Then they would bet a large sum, and wala! instant cash. Unfortunately one of the members was a big of a renegade, and instead of putting the device in his shoe and using his toe to give it input, he kept in in his jacket. Turns out a guy periodically placing his hand in his pocket and winning almost every time kind of looks suspicious.
-
I have no problem with minesweeper.
minesweeper is pretty much randomized every time u play and if you do some math then you could find the probablity of were theres a mine in a space or not based upon the area of the playin feild.
Exactly right. There's really only one click that is risky... the first one. Once that is done, it's pretty easy once you understand how things are revealed and how to use multiple numbers to find the locations of the mines precisely.
-
yea so if you take calculas you could probably win minesweeper every time
-
yea so if you take calculas you could probably win minesweeper every time
Or if you understood logic- the numbers indicate the number of mines on adjacent spaces. Using that you can either deduce that there is or there isn't a mine at a specific location. Remember, the goal is simply to flag all the mines, not reveal the entire playing area.
-
understood logic
you mean like AND, OR, NOT, XOR, etc.
-
No more like COS ,SIN , TAN
-
Mario RPG SNES
Zelda SNES & Orcarina Of Time N64
Call Of Duty Series for PC
Halo for Xbox
-
Zelda! I loved that series. Well, the first 3 games (the 2 NES ones and the SNES one).
-

sigh. I mean human logic, not math logic. deduction and induction? You know, the type of stuff that made man realize it is a heck of a lot easy to kill an animal with a stick or rock then to use their "caveman punch". Not "AND OR XOR IMP EQV NOT" type stuff.
No more like COS ,SIN , TAN
Thats trigonometry. A little bit different. Don't want to know the thought processes that came about for that one...

everything up to wind waker I like. Can't say anything about wind waker as I have yet to play anything but the demo included on the Collectors edition.
Supposedly the second one sucks. I say the people that say it sucks just didn't give it a chance.
Mario RPG SNES
Zelda SNES & Orcarina Of Time N64
Call Of Duty Series for PC
Halo for Xbox
I know it was a mistake to spell ocarina like that, but it got me thinking as to what an "orcarina" would look like. A flute shaped like a killer whale?
-

heh.
never heard of the game.
-
Its a real popular game. :o No not really maybe the earlier ones where I seen a few of those. But I have a semi rep to the one in ocarina of time. Its really nice an everything but cost a good bit. Not real sure which systems you are meaning but I played both the ones for the n64 an majors mask is a pain. I haven't beat the whole thing yet ether. Theres three really hard sub parts, getting heart pieces, collecting all mask an getting all the fairies in each temple.

The collectors edition on GameCube is sweet for older Zelda games. But- no Link to the past! But my brothers gamecube doesn't seem to work anymore. I upgraded my machine and I can now run Nintendo 64 Emulators and roms.(WARNING: downloading Roms is bad. Don't do it. It's bad.) I downloaded (I mean, a spontanteous sequence of bytes appeared as a file on my hard drive) the Ocarina of Time Master Quest version. I just wish they changed the overworld...
When I play through Majora's mask I try to save time by getting the stray fairies as part of my first run-through, And get power-ups ASAP (gilded sword). Then again, I doubt I'm the only one who get's the biggoron's sword first thing after becoming an adult in OOT.
heh.
never heard of the game.
That surprises me- was it perhaps before your time? Then again, I know a person who had never heard of tetris. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? Apparently tetris doesn't fly well in Britain or something...
And I pose a question- why does nobody seem to like Zelda2?
-
See above reasons
-
And I pose a question- why does nobody seem to like Zelda2?
Probably because of the mostly linear gameplay.
-
See above reasons
Nowhere do you mention zelda2. Unless of course you actually mean Majora's Mask, which would be the fifth one (ignoring GB games)
-
Anybody else here ever play chip's challenge?
-
Anybody else here ever play chip's challenge?
yup. i got pretty up there in the levels but i dont remember ever beating it.
-
Recently, I've been killing time with Mario Kart Wii and DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (Wii too). They're great, especially online! 8)
Emiel
-
Anybody else here ever play chip's challenge?
I knew that sounded familiar, but I still had to look it up. I do remember that though, I don't think I ever beat it either.
-
Pong I even used to have an old system that would run it. It was the only thing it ran but still.
-
I would have to say FIFA 08 on the PS2.
-
I'd have to say it's a bit hard. I have a list though XD.
-Morrowind
-Rome Total War
-Medieval 2 Total War
-Day of Defeat/Counter Strike: Source
Those would be my favs along with GTA4.
-
My favourite game has always been mario brothers.
I still have a working Super Nintendo and I still play the games on it, including Super Mario World, Actraiser, and the Final Fantasy games. While I do enjoy today's games, I just don't think they make them like they used to. I think a lot of games made now, especially console games, have lost that little touch.
i have two super nintendos i still play the mario games
-
SAme here my dumb little cousin kill the one power supply an my sister got another one from a friend.
-
PC Games:
1.Counter Strike Source
2.Half-Life 1 & 2 series
PS2 games:

-
thats a nice collection quaxo ;D
but no xbox?
is there any news on upcoming consoles from nintendo sony or MS?
-
No news that I've heard.
I don't know why I still have those dang things around. Surprised some of them work (like the Coleco). Funny that neither of my Sega systems work either... wonder what that says about their products? :P
Like I mentioned before, I still pull out the SNES and play Final Fantasy III once in a while. I love that game.
I also pull out the PSOne to play Suikoden since my PS2 Slim is a Japanese version and won't play US PSOne games.
-
That stuff was built to last. You never knew when something newer was goning to come out.
-
Morrowind for Xbox
World of Warcraft for PC
-
Do any of you guys have the old systems like N64, PS1, SNES?
-
Look a couple of post back, macdad, a whole list of mine.
-
Lets see I have a super nintendo that the psu died, one that my sister got that works. A n64 but only has three games which you would figure two, A ps1 final fantasy ix spure, Gameboy advance got for tradeing kind of wore out, used to have a system that would run pong, a c64 which sort of was a basic gaming system that we still have an the software an printers an such.
-
PS2 : GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas
PS3 : GTA IV
PC : GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas
- GTA IV ... coming on Oct 2008 for PC.. i can't wait.. ;D
-
(no order)
1.Crackdown ;D
2.world of warcraft :D
3.All Mario games 8)
4.Warhammer 40k Dawn of War :)
5.Halo is good to ;)
-
The three games that have captivated me the most in no order are:
Final Fantasy VII
Diablo 2
Starsiege Tribes
There are lots of other games I enjoy but I could live without them.
WoW could probably do it, but I avoid that game, because I know I am susceptible to unhealthy obsession.
-
I have lots of favs
Homeworld series
KOTOR #1 was better
Freelancer and Darkstar one (Similar games)
Heavy Gear II
Master of Orion 3
Red faction
AoE series
This list would go on for a long time so I had better stop :P
PS How could I forget piloting the Mechs and Hercs in Mechwarrior and Earthsiege?. You haven't piloted a combat machine until you have piloted one of those 100T machines of destruction.
-
goldeneye007 for n64.
/signed Still go back to it once in a while for nostalgia's sake.
-
Got a new list of games i like, all the Star Fox games, espesially Star Fox Assault! the theme song on assault is amazing! 8)
-
my list would have 2 be
1.Ninja Gaiden 2 (xbox360)
2.Super smash bros Melee(gamecube)
3.Quake 3(Pc)
4.gta sa (pc)
5.Mario kart wii
6.Super mario yoshi's world (snes)
7.Zelda(nes)
8.War of the Monsters (ps2)
9.super mario world 64
10. Need For Speed Carbon Xbox 360.
-
starcraft is sure to be the best game ever made...
it is very simple and yet very strategic...
if blizzard will release the new one, i'd still like to have the old strategic style and difficulty but have some of the features of warcraft 3 like buying and lvlup and skill lvlups, and the best... the simple world editor...
Hey!!! can you pass this one to blizzard???
-
Assassins creed
-
"You're not praying, you must be the murderer!"
-
for me CoD(1,2,3,4) is the best game
-
RUNESCAPE BABY
WOOT WOOT
-
I cant believe i haven't posted that I love socom! for ps2, socom 2 is the best one, but i still play socom combined assault all the time. I think its the bet 3rd person shooter ever! awesome game because of big maps and having to do tactical stuff instead of just run and gun. i have a vid of some awesome sniping in it lol but yea great game.
-
bioshock for 360
-
RUNESCAPE BABY
WOOT WOOT
what is so fun about that game. i stabbed you. your turn. i cast a spell. your turn. not to mentoion the absence of voices short of frog-like grunts
-
my list would have 2 be
1.Ninja Gaiden 2 (xbox360)
2.Super smash bros Melee(gamecube)
3.Quake 3(Pc)
4.gta sa (pc)
5.Mario kart wii
6.Super mario yoshi's world (snes)
7.Zelda(nes)
8.War of the Monsters (ps2)
9.super mario world 64
10. Need For Speed Carbon Xbox 360.
"Ninja Gaiden 2:the dark sword of Chaos" is an NES game...
do you mean Super Mario World, or Yoshi's Island?
and it's just Super Mario 64- not world. Which kind of makes sense, since your only in the castle.
-
RUNESCAPE BABY
WOOT WOOT

Its not so great anymore. I used to like it because it's a huge online RPG that everyone can play. They've updated it so much that a lot of people can't run it anymore. I can't really play, my connection is too slow i guess. Waste of my time(lvl 78).
-
i stabbed you. your turn. i cast a spell. your turn. not to mentoion the absence of voices short of frog-like grunts
hey, add some knives and magic to pokemon, and you have runescape!
I don't know where the whole "turn-based" paradigm came from. but it wasn't real life.
-
well there is one thing about RS that is fun(once you become a mem) the map has tripled in size since the 2006 version ;D
but yea, they do kinda go overboard with the specs, but its not the first time(i had to play Low Detail even back on the 2006 version)
but now im still getting real fun out of it(lvl 40)
yet its sometimes not as fun as owning monsters in Doom ;D
-
heh. im a member and I don't think I ever really used much of the members map. I mean I went to ardougne and stuff but never anywhere past castle wars arena. I've done all the free quests but I'm too lazy to get my levels up do do most of them members quests, especially if its just going to lag.
-
Well these are my first games and favorite:
FIRST GAMES
PC: Populous: The Beginning
PS1: Crash Bandicoot and Final Fantasy
Gameboy: Pokemon(lol)
FAVORITE GAMES
PC: LOTR Battle for Middle Earth II: Rise of the Witch King
PS3: Gran Turismo 5 Prologue & Madden 09
PSP: Final Fantasy Tactics
-
Pokemon is great, the originals are better than the newer ones for some reason(probably nostalgia) 8)
-
I have got my self plaing resident evil 4 alot since I got my new ps2. Wish I played my wii more but really cant since classes started again.
-
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. No question about it. Im not that into computer games. *gets attacked by an angry hoard of CH users*
-
started plaing the wii yesterday super smash brother brawl.
-
My first game was The Hunt for Red October, a very old DOS game.
Quake II was my first 1st-person shooter, and the first game I was really good at (and still am).
Now, I'd have to say my favorites are split between two genres: Crysis takes the cake for 1st-person shooters, and Supreme Commander takes it for real-time strategy. ;D
-
Missing some of the games on my gaming pc. Frets of Fire!!!
-
Command and Conquer. ;D
-
Splinter Cell
-
Burn not 3,
Poptropica.
-
1. Duke Nukem
2. MW2
3. COD4
4. GTA3
5. Super Mario Sunshine
-
GTA San andreas is my all-time favourite game. I really enjoy when I play it.
-
I go for this top , hard to say which one is the best because each of them has its part in my live :). But a list should be done, so:
1. Age of Empires ( all versions since first one (the best one in my opinion ;) , old good times :) ))
2. Civilization 4
3. Starcraft
4. Rome Total War
5. Kohan :D
6. Tiberian Sun / Red Alert
.... others :)
I guess that the top depends on poster age :).
-
Hi all,
My favourite game is always vice city. Nice graphics mode added in that game. Thanks for sharing with us.

I'm gonna have to go with Zelda: ocarina of time
Good Choice
-
In saying that, i have totally enjoyed every Zelda game, since the N64
Ocarina of Time
Majora Mask
Wind Waker
Twilight Princess
Top Games

Ocarina of Time
Majora Mask
Wind Waker
Twilight Princess
Top Games
I on the other hand, like all of the ones I've played so far, including the NES,SNES,GB and GBC installments:
Ocarina of Time
Majora's Mask (I used to like this far less then OOT, but now they are pretty much equal
Twilight Princess (this felt pretty much like OOT, but "redone" in such a way to take advantage of newer hardware; it certainly puts the GC to good use (in the GC version, which is the one I have)
A Link to The Past (ranks pretty high in my personal list of best evar SNES games). the GBA installment sucks in comparison. ANybody who has played both knows why.
Wind Waker (Only beaten it once, playing the "2nd quest" file I made from the first time I beat it from time to time
Link's Awakening DX (GBC) Still play this one from time to time. It does take the worst thing from the n64 installments, kaepora gaebora, AKA "That annoying Owl"; aside from that it's still quite good.
Minish Cap: Meh.
Hyrule Fantasy (the first one) Still play this one also. Excellent.
Adventure of Link: One of my favourites, in fact I have to say I preferred it over the first installment.
I've probably beaten the ALTTP at least 3 times as much as I've beaten all the others put together. Probably because it's the only one I'm familiar with that I have on the proper system; most of the others (except WW and TP) are played via emulation (or the GC collectors edition disc, which I never use)
Also, let's have a shout-out to Metroid; In almost all it's installments, but specifically the NES and SNES versions (Metroid and Super Metroid). Recently played Prime (haven't beaten the final boss yet, bloody thing keeps killing me) and started Prime 2, and they definitely preserve a lot of the "spirit" of the earlier games.
-
In saying that, i have totally enjoyed every Zelda game, since the N64
I on the other hand, like all of the ones I've played so far, including the NES,SNES,GB and GBC installments:
I probably would to but didn't get into Nintendo until the N64, after the megadrive (with megaCD and 32X) i bought a playstation, but wasnt impressed and ended selling it for a N64, since then i've never looked back. Nintendo seem to be the most innovative out of all the consoles and the others always play catch up.
Love Metroid, completed both prime and echoes , great games
oh yeah...........Goldeneye
-
A Link to The Past (ranks pretty high in my personal list of best evar SNES games). the GBA installment sucks in comparison. ANybody who has played both knows why.
Yeah a link to the past is really up there as well.
-
It would have to be final fantasy!!I spent hours and hours and hours on it when i was younger.I played lots of other games too but final fantasy stood out.ahhh.....the memories!!
-
My favorite - DOTA!!! The best!!!
-
Mario!!!! Of course, that is like the best game ever!
-
Mario!!!! Of course, that is like the best game ever!
If its 'like' the best game ever, what IS the best game ever?
-
If its 'like' the best game ever, what IS the best game ever?
And there isn't a game called "Mario!!!!" and Mario is in more then one game. Some are better then others.
Mario is in Mario is Missing, for example, an abortion of a educational title disguised as a mario game.
-
I'm still somewhat stuck on what I call "old school" games. I love tetris and bejeweled!
-
All the Metal Gear Solid games,
Can't wait for the next one to come out next year.
-
Anyone ever play Eternal darkness on the gamecube? Truly under rated game.
-
Anyone ever play Eternal darkness on the gamecube? Truly under rated game.
Completed it 4 times :D............top game
-
"Seven Party" by PromoTek (internet based game). ;)
-
When my kids had a playstation I really had fun with Gran Tourismo, really gripping game. As far as mmo's I'm really enjoying WoW, and the most fun we had with a multiplayer game was Mario Kart but my kids beat me mercilessly.
-
my favorite game is championship manager in PC.I always play 3 hours a day.
-
Shadowman...................N64
-
I think my fav game of all time should be the Civ serie, regardless ot the number.
I've spent countless time on it.
-
Alright since the last time I posted, my favorite games has changed dramatically here are mine:
1. Final Fantasy Tactics
2. Crash Bandicoot Series [For PS1 only, the PS2 and later games in my opinion suck!]
3. Populous: The Beginning
4. Age of Empires II and Expansion Packs
5. Mass Effect Trilogy
6. Fable Trilogy
7. Gears of War Trilogy
8. Any Tom Clancy game [Example: Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, Etc.]
9. Gran Turismo Series
10. Madden Series [Though they are starting to make me pissed off, due to the lack of any real improvement]
Honorable Mentions:
Zeus: Master of Olympus and Expansion Packs, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Doom 3, Medieval Total War II and Expansions, Crysis, Diablo Series, Starcraft II, NBA 2K11 [Just because of Jordan, GO BULLS], Spyro Series [Once again only for the PS1], Grand Theft Auto Series, Metal Gear Solid Series, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 1 & 2, Assassin's Creed Series, Fallout 3, Bioshock Trilogy, Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver and Crystal, and Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth II [But only the PC version, the Xbox 360 Version sucks].

-
Shadowman...................N64

Shall i mention...........Perfect Dark
-
Shall i mention...........Perfect Dark
Good, but certainly not underrated.
-
For me, it has to be Sensible Soccer for the Amiga! Just the most playable game ever in my opinion!
-
Dota Allstars on Warcraft III Frozen Throne.
If you never played it, you are really missing out. The graphics looks really bad, but once you play for a while you get used to it and have a blast.
Best game ever invented for sure.
Its a team game where there is 5 versus 5 people. Each person picks a hero from around 50 heroes and levels him up. Each hero has different spells and abilities. The highest level you can get is 25.
The point of the game is to destroy the throne of the enemy team. To do that you have to destroy all of the towers/buildings along the way. They are also "creeps" coming out of both of the basis that try to destroy enemy base but they cant do anything without a support of the hero.
Oh and you can buy many different items.
-
well i like halo 3[pc]. great rpg gaming , nice graphics.
-
Aside from all the classic console games, Counter-strike 1.6 is defiantly up there.
-
THE SIMS 3 is the best....aww.. :D

Mario is a character in a game, he's been in over 70 games (some of which are rubbish).
-
Mario is a character in a game, he's been in over 70 games (some of which are rubbish).
I doubt any of the games can compare to the awfulness that is the movie though.
well, Except those educational spin-offs like Mario is Missing, or Mario's Time Machine.
-
I doubt any of the games can compare to the awfulness that is the movie though.
Oh yes, I'd (quite thankfully) forgotten about that movie, terrible absolutley terrible.
Mind you there are not many good instances of a good game to film.
Tomb Raider
Hitman
Resident Evil
-
space invaders
pac man
-
Oh yes, I'd (quite thankfully) forgotten about that movie, terrible absolutley terrible.

Tomb Raider
Hitman
Resident Evil
Resident Evil was such a disappointment. The game set such a great stage for horror and the movie turned it into more action than anything. ...kinda the way the games are heading now.
But the Max Payne movie was a masterpiece LOL
/sarcasm
-
Oh yeah, quite liked Silent Hill, the movie
-
I love Mario,Resident Evil and Pangya ;)
-
CIV II !!! I've probably spent an entire calendar year or more playing this game.. we even used to play over the lan at work :D

Hello, all friends. I just like to play some simple games. My favorite game is Plants vs Zombies.
-
Always changing over time but I'd have to say Warcraft Series. I've honestly spent a lot of hours playing that game.

SUPER CASTLEVANIA 4!!!!!!!!
This game is old and featured on the Super Nintendo Console. I have played game countless times since my childhood and never, EVER got bored of this game. I am 30 years now and can still play this classic anytime. Everything about this game is perfect, the game-play, music (a lot of great piano, action beats), characters, stages, etc. If I were you guys, I would get the SNES emulator and play this game right away. You're missing out! The games today SUCK!!!

I can't make up my mind. It's either Civilization I, or Myth.
Before those I spent a LOT of time with Dungeons of Daggorath.
Why those old games? Because I just haven't had the time or inclination to get involved in gaming since. :-\

it keeps changing but right now it's the Tomb Raider reboot

This is one of the hardest but fun question to answer. :D Snake is a pretty good casual game. I used to like it a lot when I had my first Nokia phone.lol
Anyway, here's mine in no particular order:
1. Last of Us
2. Journey
3. FF VII
4. Gravity Rush
5. Borderlands 1 and 2
I know these are newer games. That's mainly because when I was a kid video games were banned at our house. My grandparents only allowed books. :( I only got the chance to play anything I want when I moved out. :)

My favourite games all come from old school Nintendo consoles.
1 007
2 Doom
3 Mario Cart
4 Mario All Stars
5 Waverace
Not necessarily in any order. I could sit down and enjoy hours of fun on each one.
I have Playstations 1, 2 , Xbox, Sega and Super Nintendo consoles but I always end up playing with the Nintendo 64 games the most.

And lets not forget about my other most favourite game... Sim City 3000.
I could stay awake all night (and I have) playing that game. Its just so addictive.
I'd like to be able to write a game based on Sim City but make it more true to real cities.
and I'm with reddevilggg, not really into any of the others, even the WII is disappointing IMHO.

Illusion of Gaia was awesome. I still have that on SNES.

Zelda: Ocarina for me (I imagine it's gotten a few mentions on here already). First game I played as a kid that really captivated me. It blew my mind how big and rich the world, the story and the characters were. Recently dug out a bunch of old game stuff, my N64 included and I'm, amazed by how much I'm enjoying it again. Although to be fair, there's a heavy nostalgia factor there.
