Title: cd burners vs xp

So here's another question maybe you can help me with. I bought a Compaq Pressario off of ebey that had no OS So I got me a copy of windows xp. I know that it came with windows me from the factory becuse my mother in law has virtually the same computer which I also put xp on. So now neither one of our cd burners work do to xp. It shows up on the computer but when you try to burn something it says there is no disc in the drive but you can listen to cd's with no problem. Are they just out dated or can I get this fixed?
