Download ccleaner, run the cleaner and also scan for issues.
Do a defrag then re-boot, if it's still slow then re-boot again.

Download Ccleaner from here:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

Then scan for issues by clicking in the issues tab, and make a backup of the registry first (save it in an easy to find location, like C:\)

The registry isn't all for the CD keys that you use to install a program. In this case, they are the keys that run at the start up of your computer, and they allow programs to run.

Do you have an antivirus scanner?

halokid224......  Take a deep breath and lets get at it .....

The first thing to do .....
Turn off system restore on all drives .  Most important as trojans love to hide in those files .
Make sure you have Ewido installed on your machine and has the latest updates ...... get it at .....  http://www.majorgeeks.com/Ewido_security_suite_d4677.html

Next ...... Reboot into safe mode

From safe mode , run your anti virus ....make sure to do a comlete scan.
remove anything it may find .......

Reboot back to Normal
Now run Ewido

Reboot and then ....... run a scan with  hijackthis , save the logfile and post it here .

I have assumed you have run ccleaner and it is configured as directed in the link that GX1_Man posted.

Don't get distracted by your preconceived notions. Just follow the instructions EXACTLY and watch how much your system improves.
