Give 1 vote for every OS you use regularly...this includes 1+ OS computers, work computers & laptops. Running an OS in Virtual Machines does not count.
Example: Joe uses XP at home on dual boot with Vista. At work he uses Win 2000. And he has 2 laptops, one with Mac OS X and one with Vista. If he uses all computers he'd vote: 1 for Vista, 1 for XP, 1 for Mac OS X and 1 for Windows 2000
Thanks for taking the time. :)

Oh joy....Another one......
Discounting virtual machines? Windows XP.
-
XP, 98SE, Ubuntu, Win2k, and Debian GNU/Linux
-
I think I did one of these polls... ahhh *censored*! Well, I chose Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 3.x and lower.

For just the computers in my house.........
98, ME, XP pro, Vista Ultimate 32, Windows 7 Ultimate 64, RC1
And, oh yes, my favorite, Windows XP Ultimate 32, SP3 with the Vista Look. ;) ::) ;D
-
XP Professional X64 on my main machine, XP Professional on the family machine, XP X64 or Pro on my laptop (nothing at the minute) and Server 2003 on my server (oddly enough).
I use Windows 95, NT4, 98SE and 2000 occasionally, also I'm trying to make time to properly test out Linux, Vista and Windows 7.
-
I have two XP Desktop, one 98SE desktop, and a XP laptop.
-
Two Desktops, one XP the other Win2K
-
What's an Operating System ? ?
Is that a machine that is working ? ?
If so i'll vote.
Confused.

Surely you're joking?

Windows XP (crummy Home Edition) and Vista Business
But I'm going to make my own OS called "the blockHEAD OS"....and it's going to be so grand...............heh, maybe when i get into Linux I'll compile and submit a "blockHEAD" distribution ;D
-
Using Windows XP, sometimes '98 and I also have a very old computer which runs MS-DOS.
-
XP Home, and I have a 95 downstairs which I never use.
-
I use XP Pro.
Dell shipped Vista on an installation disk with the machine that had XP pro loaded.
I don't know how to run both XP Pro and Vista at the same time?
-
I have a suggestion for another poll-
"How many Operating System preference/use polls have you voted in?"
-

You can install two OS on the same machine and select which one you want to boot during startup. This normally involves installing each OS on a separate partition of a partitioned single hard drive or on two different hard drives. This is called a dual-boot configuration.
-
While Vista is what I currently use, I would rather have XP. That shoul dhave been the 2nd part of the toll.
-
Only seven choices?
MS DOS, Win 95, 98, 2000, 2003 Server, Vista, Linux, SCO Unix, ReactOS...
-
You have all those and no XP! :o :D
-
stuck with xp, just because my hardware not power enough to handle vista/7 :-[
-
Eh...XP is not a bad choice(At least not as bad as Win ME ;))
-
You have all those and no XP! :o :D
Knew I'd forgotten one!!!
-
I currently have 3 main PC's.
A Win2000, XP Pro (on 2 of 3) and a Vista Basic.
In a month i'm ditching the Win2000 and going to Ubuntu (Linux).
Has anybody tried Ubuntu....did you like it?
-
Ubuntu is nice ...and fairly solid.
But not fully matured as yet.
I would suggest DLoading the Live version and run it on your machine to see how it goes befor installing it...
-
The nice thing about Linux is the control. The user has complete control and it has many preferences.

What does that mean?
What kind of control?
I have complete control of my Windows computer.
-
OMG! JJ! what a coincidence! So do I!
Windows has a lot of preferences- so many most people are overwhelmed...
I think we might need some clarification from milesman about exactly what he means...
-
I have complete control over all the servers and workstations in my building, by virtue of this large button I keep seeing everwhere. It's hard to describe in just text, but it's always labelled something like this: ( | )
-
xp
-
LOL, no votes for Mac 1-9.2 ;D
Seems there are a few Leopard fans who just can't admit it.. :D

This gets my vote as the most ridiculous comment of the Year...
-
Oh, c'mon, Patio!
You get to mount and unmount your own drives! ::)
Complete control! ;D
(Actually, thank goodness most of the larger distros do it for you after all these years!)
-
I imagine they're trying to hide the whole "mounting" metaphor, since some people get offended. "I have to WHAT to my drives? I don't have the energy for that!"
