Title: search settings problem! please help!

hello, i am new to this forum so am not sure if i am posting right section (apologies if it is in wrong section)

 i have recently just had virgin media installed and just set up the wireless router and got everything working however whenever i open internet explorer this message comes up:

after i try to browse for a folder it just says that it cannot find anything! it keeps closing my web browser, but when i go on opera or firefox, it rarely comes up. what can i do?
