Hello everyone I'm just new here. I just want to ask because i have my personal computer now ,I bought it and it's second hand. What is the best browser to use for a windows XP. I tried everything but it seems too slow. Anyone could help me please.
-
There is no best - whatever you like is the best. IE, Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Safari - use whatever you like.
-
Am curious what are the specs of your new PC.
I like ChromePlus (http://chromeplus.org/) browser, but ... the best browser is one that, like Allan already said, is the one you are most comfortable using.
-
It may be that your internet connection is slow.
-
Hi,
I use dial-up connection. Google Chrome is way faster than FireFox and Internet Explorer. Although, I wonder how much info Google is collecting about my surfing.

If you're worried, use a non google variant (same basic browser, Chrome(ium) is OpenSource) such as SRWare Iron or Chrome Plus

Mozilla Firefox and Google chrome both are the best browser for windows XP. You can try it

Google Chrome.

Chromium is the fastest so far for me - even though it's sort of "stripped down."
Apparently it's a simplified variation on Google Chrome.

Chromium is open source, Google Chrome is Google's version of chromium.
-
From what I understand, google started both Chromium & Chrome, chrome is the "commercial" version, and chromium is the open sourced version.
I'm not 100% sure on that, but I used to think that Chrome was just googles product based on a pre-existing Open Source program (Chromium) but articles/information I've read in the meantime make me thing that Chromium was also started by google.

Usage share of web browsers
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
.... Chrome is the most popular browser in Tunisia and Albania with respectively 49% and 52% usage share...

Of course, that does not mean any are the best just because they are popular. Right?
Did you say yes? If so, then we could go on to declare the best coffee is from Brazil.

IE still has the highest usage, and its not the best! Many just don't know there are alternative browsers, and just use what's bundled with Windows.

Yes, but that's been slowly changing. The trend in recent years has been a decrease is percentage of users using IE. Where this will go from here on remains to be seen.

do you use a program just because it simply works and you just run with it? Some people just don't care what they use as long as the web is working :P

Today almost all browsers are the same speed, or at least so close it doesn't make any difference. The browser you use now has more to do with the look and feel you like.
If you feel it's slow, it's more than likely it's your ISP or your machine. There are several ways to test your speed at sites like speedtest.net, DSL reports, etc. and make sure your are getting the speed you are paying for.

I agree totally, but, something tells me there will still be another 20 posts saying, 'Firefox IS the fastest' or 'Chrome IS the Best'. If only people read as much as they typed. Yes, i know, i live in Hope. Its just outside Despair.
