Title: same capacity, but of different price
Post by: kwfine on December 02, 2006, 11:33:57 PM
In a window shopping, I saw some HDDs with same capacity, brandname, rpm,
but they are of different prices.

1. Maxtor IEEE1394,7200rpm, 300GB: US$ 200
2. Maxtor Serial ATA,7200rpm, 300GB: US$ 70
3. Maxtor UDMA100, 7200, 300GB: US$ 97

Could someone tell me what makes the differences in the price?

The second item seems very resonable. Should I take it?

1. Requires firewire connection
2. Requires SATA connection and power connector
3. Standard IDE drive, should work in any machine

USB 2 is much more common these days and is as fast.
