Post by: Jacko_the_Wacko on April 29, 2005, 10:23:47 AM
Good For Gaming?

1.2 GHz Coppermine Celeron (It Sucks...But Oh Well)
1GB PC133 168-Pin SDRAM
80GB Hard Drive
MSI Radeon 5500 (I Think!) 256 DDRRAM Video Card
10/100 Ethernet Card
Dial-Up Modem
24-Bit Live! SoundBlaster
2 USB Ports
Floppy Drive
CD-RW  Drive
Regular CD Drive

I'm planning on buying this computer; is it good for gaming?

Jacko_the_Wacko......Well unless the price is really cheap , I would be considering something else. If you into gaming ...then this isnt the one you want .

This computer seems ok to me, but I would consider DSL or Cable instead of Dial-up... You will regret having Dial-up... Also, it depends on what kind of gaming you are playing... However, for most games, this one seems fine to me...

Good for Solitaire & Minesweeper but it would not run games like Doom 3 or FarCry.
It does depend on the games.

Well, the RAM, HDD, and Gfx all seem good....  Just that the CPU speed =\  1.2GHz is really weak for modern computers...  Heck, you can probably get a 2GHz desktop off of Dell for like, $500!  Lol...  But then again, modern computers are incompatible with SDRAM, in which case you'd have to buy 1GB of DDRRAM (Ugh....  Approx. $100?)..
