My daughter calls,,her 14 year old went to several sites and she now has over 2000 viruses on her comp..it is totally froze, she does have mcafee antivirus but that obviously didn't help much!! Anyways, do you think trying to reboot it in safe-mode
might at least unclamp the freeze up and possibly allow her to at least try to get some of those things off?

Trying Safe Mode won't hurt.

If she can get into 'Safe Mode with Networking,' have her try this: http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,46313.0.html.

Well..sadly to say she DOESN'T have an antivirus on her comp..and she rebooted the thing before I could get a reply from someone here..It freezes to the desktop,,and won't connect online. I would just wipe the hd and start over. but she's there and I'm here so...Thanks anyway for the replies:)

Probably a good idea...but can she start in Safe Mode with Networking?
