Title: Help! DESPERATE help needed!

hello

heres my problem- when i try to start up my computer(not the one im typing from) which is windows xp home, it begins normally only to go to the "windows has not started successfully" screen. no matter which of the safe mode, last good config, or start windows normally options i try, it simply keeps restarting. as well, i looked on microsoft.com and tried the suggested method to re-install kernel32.dll but it wouldn't work. WHAT DO I DO? any ideas?
