Hi all, I am new to this site and I am hoping someone can shed light on my situation. I have a Dell computer and I just purchased a Sony DVD rom and I already have a NEC DL DVD burner. I used to have a NEC DVD Rom but it died and I replaced it with a Sony. My problem is when I try to burn a DVD it says the drives are not compatible. I used to be able to burn before with my NEC DVD Rom installed. Why won't my computer let the two drives work together? I can watch DVD's on either Drive and I can burn files and stuff but I cannot burn from one Drive to the Other? Any help or ideas would be appreiciated. Rammer ???

Have you checked to see if they are jumpered correctly ? ?
The burner should be set as master and hooked to the end of the ribbon cable on IDE 2
And the ROM should be set as slave and hooked to the middle ribbon connector on IDE 2 ...
