Title: (problem with linux)cd-rom

I have been having problems with my cd- rom. the first time i put a cd-r it woud read the pictures.Now when i put it in it reads blank cds.now what i don't understand is why does it read manufacture cd ok some of the time
i have to reboot it to read sometimes,Is there something in the bios i have to
do?

What I was saying was there was a problem reading from the cd-rom.
It would read mounted cd's burned cd's that i had picts would not would
read blank cd's when i installed  the cd's anyway I bought a memorex
cd-rom at office depot for $50.oo works fine now.Are you familiar with linux
opensuse 10.3.I'm looking for more resources to look at to learn more?
