Post by: Rixter on February 26, 2010, 08:59:46 AM

Not normally...no.
But that's where you started so let's re-do it...
Also double check all connections inside the case while you are in there.

Also check you didn't set the CMOS Clear jumper and forget to put it back where it belongs.

I will double check..thank you..The most important thing is that i have a working computer..the one i'm using now. i have very much material on the one that has crashed. i think maybe i should remove the hard drives from crashed computer and put them in this one but that might be too complicated for me. I will do as you say..buy a new battery. Is there any other way..any other possibility if you have a hard disk in your hand..to buy something that cab be used to move the information to a place where i can find it.?? thanks so much for any advice.

Slave Drive Tutorial... (http://www.dtidata.com/resourcecenter/2007/04/23/how-to-slave-hard-drive/)

Complete with a video...not as hard as you may think, but i always suggest finding someone who tinkers with PC's to assist for your 1st time doing something.
Make sure they are knowledgeable....many say they are...and aren't.
