hi, i would like to uninstall and reinstall MOVIE MAKER from my PC and use the Fujitsu Siemens WME Product Recovery CDRom to reinstall it ,, but I can't find it on the CDRom,,, can anyone be so kind and help me a little ???????? thans so much
-
Are you talking about Windows Movie Maker or some other product?
Windows Movie Maker is an integrated part of Windows and not something you can just uninstall.
Why do you need to reinstall it?
What is this "Fujitsu Siemens WME Product" you're talking about?
-
the Movie Maker is Ver.1.0.13377.0..... i don't know when it stopped working.. i just want'd to use it one day and couldn't..... thanks the following is a copy of the failure report that comes up on my screen .......MOVIEMK verursachte einen Ausnahmefehler c06d007eH in Modul MOVIEMK.EXE bei 016f:6007af9b.

You may check some advices from here: http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html
What Windows version is it?
Any codecs installed lately?
-
BRONI..... the windows version is ...4.90.3000..... i think,,,,,,,, also i left out some info...... the error code i get is MSIMG32.dll.......... thanks........ i don't think i loaded any new codecs........
-
The name of your Windows version would be a lot easier than the version number, but you're using Windows ME (AKA Windows Millennium Edition) correct?
-
yes i have windows ME.......... can you help ......... THANKS
-
If you have Windows ME CD, go Start>Run, type in:
sfc /scannow
and click OK.
-
Broni....... i don't have the Windows ME cd... my PC came with...]Product Recovery CD-ROM[ and Drivers&Utility CD-ROM ?????
-
Let's clarify...
At first, you say, you're getting this error:
MOVIEMK verursachte einen Ausnahmefehler c06d007eH in Modul MOVIEMK.EXE
Then, in next reply, you're talking about MSIMG32.dll, which is MSN Messenger file.
Which error is it?
-
Broni... sorry for the confusion !!!!! The first error I get when i try to open up the movie maker is MSIMG 32.dll
-
Search your computer, and tell me where MSIMG32.dll file is located.
-
Broni....MSIMG32.dll resides in C:\WINDOWS\SYS and C:\PROGRAM\Vasili... both have TYPE: Programlibrary
-
I need full paths...C:\WINDOWS\SYS, C:\PROGRAM\Vasili... won't do.
Is it C:\WINDOWS\SYStem32, or what?
-
...C:\SYSTEM (not system32) and C:\Vasilios Applications\Multiple Applicator\Data\Be Trayed
-
You may have some conflict. Does Multiple Applicator runs as a startup? Do you have Windows ME CD?
-
multiple applicator does not run on startup !!! my pc came preinstalled with ME and only came with :: RECOVERY CDROM;; AND DRIVER UTILITIES CDROM:::::
-
Please, go to both locations of MSIMG 32.dll file, and post back with version number in both cases.

It looks like your version is too high, and in fact (I checked M$ site) is designed for Windows XP.
That may be a problem.
I don't have Windows ME, but I checked my Win 98, which is very similar OS, and MSIMG32.dll reports 5.00.1693.1 version.
You may want to PM me with your email address, and I'll send you my file. Then, you can replace your file with mine.
-
I got your email address. Please, remove it from your post, facing spambots, otherwise...
-
Broni .. thanks.. i downloaded the new msimg32.dll file......how do i install it???????? i admit my ignorance !!!!!!
-
Don't worry about it.
Restart computer in Safe Mode (keep tapping F8 key, when computer starts to boot, until menu appears; select Safe Mode)
Find msimg32.dll file, I sent you, right click on it, click Copy
Open Windows Explorer. Navigate to C:\Windows\System
In right pane, scroll down to find your msimg32.dll file. Rename it to msimg32.old
Right click on System folder, click Paste. That will paste new msimg32.dll file into System folder.
Restart computer. See, if error will pop-up again.
P. S. Some .dll files can't be replaced in Safe Mode. In that case we'll have to use DOS.
-
Broni......... I did as you suggested and it WORKS !!!!!!!!!!!!! You are the very best !!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH for all of your time and effort...... jerryblue
-
I'm glad, it worked :)
Just to let you know, that what happened to you, is not unusual in any pre-NT Windows version, like Win 98. Some newly installed programs will overwrite particular .dll file with newer version, which Windows will read as incorrect version, giving you an error.
Unfortunately, in Win 98, there is no way to prevent it.
