i am trying to find out what internet explorer i am running.i have been asked to open i/e then at top of page help.then about internet explorer.but it seems ,
that some of my browser is missing, because there is no help.how do i get it back.
-
Huh?
-
Are you asking about your browser(IE) version? Its on the Help menu(About Internet Explorer).
that some of my browser is missing
If you hit F11 by fault it will be in full page... Press it again. Or were you asking about toobars missing? Its View menu, Toolbars and check desired customized options/features.
Somehow I get the feeling this is another HW... ::)

Or, try 'tools' > 'toolbars' and make sure everything is ticked, to get your help button back.

It actually, 'view' > 'toolbars'...........just to avoid confusion

What we have here is a classic case of improper grammar, punctuation, and capitalization, which is causing a lot of confusion. ivanoe wants to know what version of Internet Explorer he is using. Someone told him to click on Help > About Internet Explorer, but his menu options are missing from the top of the browser.
Are you able to see the white bar at the top of Internet Explorer that allows you to type in a website address? If not, try pressing the F11 key on your keyboard as suggested because you may be in Fullscreen mode. If you can see the address bar, then that is likely not the solution. Instead, you can try moving the mouse cursor below the address bar until it turns into two arrows (pointing up and down). Once that happens, click and hold the left mouse button, pull the mouse towards you a few inches, and then let go. That should hopefully bring back your menus. If neither of these suggestions work, let us know and we can try something else.

some versions of IE hide the menu bar. pressing "Alt" will cause it to appear.

Doesn't make sense
WEB-IMAGES-VIDEOS-MAPS-NEWS-G-MAIL MORE. GOOGLE-SEARCH SETTINGS-SIGN IN.

Sounds like the Google Home page to me.
Still does not explain why some of the browswer is missing.
If none of the above post have worked, you may have to remove then re-add IE
-
ivanoe, have you tried any of the suggestions?
-

I think you are talking about the menu bars on your IE browser... File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tools, and Help Menu. You've already mention Help and Tools missing. Right-click on top of your IE browser in between the search bar or plugins and if options like these appears or open, on top is the Menu bar(uncheck), when highlighted and in blue, click the enter or mouse for it to re-appear again.
