using MacBookPro, cyberduck (uploads), hostingmatters.com (host), macOS
Hi - First time server use. An index.html site file was formed using Word. A new version using .txt was created and uploaded. There are 7 files also uploaded (MP3s and jpegs).
How do I get rid of the old index.html file which is a mess (and use the new one)? The current "site" is the html code for the defective Word index.html. Many thanks. Frank

There can't be two index.html files in the same directory, that's not possible. Can you post a screenshot from Cyberduck?
Typically if you try to upload a file with the exact same filename and extension, it'll overwrite the previous file. In your case, it sounds like the old file has not been overwritten.

It sounds like you have uploaded one file called index.html and one called index.txt is the correct? What FTP program are you using. If you go to your website address and type index.txt can you see the file? More details required to help
