Hi everyone,
I just put together my new PC, done it a couple of times.
My Nvidia 7900GTX wouldn't even boot, I'm beggining to worry its gone, just want to ask wise ones out there.
System specs:
Asus M2N32- SLI Deluxe
Amd Athlon FX 64 dual core FX62
2 gb corsair ddr2 800mhz memory
psu 650w with 30 Amp on 12V ( so enough power here)
SINGLE GPU setup
win xp + sp 2
I have tried to connect power to the card with 6 pin connector ( I used 2x 3 pin connectors from psu) when i connected everything frikkin pc wouldnt even start, just blinked and nothing.
So, 6pin connector goes out of the window, right I did unpugged it.
Now computer boots up normally, everything is working normal, except i have eye cancer now from 60hz monitor frequency.
Interesting part is when i start computer , right at the beggining it doesnt say anything about graphic card inside. I tried to change it for pci mx nvidia and information shows up as usual.
Ok so with 6pin power cable unplugged win xp loads up, and im trying to install drivers, no luck because on ORIGINAL xp win cd there are no compactible drivers. Hmpfff
In properties it says default monitor on, nothing about graphics card.
I'm running mad here, please advise.
Thanks a lot!!!
Mike

yes it is. might that be a problem?

Asus M2N32- SLI Deluxe
I don't have the SLI-Deluxe but the VM model (similar)
and they recommend corsair ram, I am finding out the Asus boards don't like the 1 gig sticks too much, hopefully this has nothing to do with yours. Someone
"smart" should be here shortly, hang-tight and good luck*

I have 2 1gig sticks in mine and it works fine. Will have to look when I get back home, don't remember a 6 pin sli power plug.

I use an A8N-SLI with 2x 1024MB DDR RAM by TWINMOS. Works fine.

the extra power connector is probably only meant for SLI.

You need to download drivers from the manufacturer.. Why'd you bother with crappy windows drivers when you spend a lot of money on your system?
You can probably find drivers for your monitor as well, if you dislike the refresh rate problem, get an LCD screen. They all run at 60Hertz, but you don't get a headache from 'm..
What brand of PSU did you buy?

Hello Raptor,
thanks for your reply.
To the drivers:
Ofc I downloaded latest nvidia drivers. Thing is when i try to install them, its saying that: There are no compactible hardware.
I have nvidia 7900 gtx and I downloaded from nvidia site selecting geeforce go 7000 series, so I hope that should be right. (it's 84.63_forceware_mobile_winxp2k_internat ional_whql ).
Yea and problem with flat screen is being resolved.
Erm, brand of PSU is win something, its nothing fancy, but from the look of it its ok quality :)
The thing that is cocerning me is that right after powerin up, information about gpu won't show up. The one which appears before bios.
Then in the hardvare profiles theres obviously question mark, and when i try and run instalation of the driver is says same thing.
Thanks for help.

Notice the mobile?
You downloaded the 7 series drivers.. Those are for laptops.
Problem found. :)
Information not showing doesn't really matter, your monitor might not be turned on fast enought to display it. 'Happens.

yea i thought that was weird hehe
solved now

You would need to check the specific games requirements from the manufacturer's site, on the box, etc. Powerful has nothing to do with it.
