Title: cd driver sploded!

when i plug a cd in (insert i guess) it doesnt detect it , i took out age of mythology and it said i had it in still, i restarted my computer and it said it was empty, i put ff8 in and it said it was still empty, whats up, am i infested?!?!?! dargh!

Insert a bootable cd and make sure the cd drive is at the top of the boot order in your bios. When you reboot does the system see the cd?

does it have to be the os thats installed on my computer cause i lost that one, can i just use a dos one?

It doesn't matter as long as it's bootable. We're try to find out if the drive works.

i found the dos one but it was a floppydisk, ill need to make one thats a cd, give me a minute

edit: or an hour or two, sorry i had to go somewhere, got one, ill tell you the results in a minute!

it worked, idont know if i should be happy or umm... not happy, cause that means its not broken and simple like that i guess

Have you tried going to Device manager uninstalling the drive,then rebooting and letting Windows reinstall it for you ?

it installs it automatically, thats nice, ill try that then

i thought it working, when i tried to use the drive it said no disk inserted but then it went crazy again when i put the disk in, maybe the disks the problem
edit: it was the disk, i have no idea whats wrong with it now argh, it was the last one!
