Insert a bootable cd and make sure the cd drive is at the top of the boot order in your bios. When you reboot does the system see the cd?
-
does it have to be the os thats installed on my computer cause i lost that one, can i just use a dos one?
-
It doesn't matter as long as it's bootable. We're try to find out if the drive works.
-
i found the dos one but it was a floppydisk, ill need to make one thats a cd, give me a minute
edit: or an hour or two, sorry i had to go somewhere, got one, ill tell you the results in a minute!
-
it worked, idont know if i should be happy or umm... not happy, cause that means its not broken and simple like that i guess
-
Have you tried going to Device manager uninstalling the drive, then rebooting and letting Windows reinstall it for you ?
-
it installs it automatically, thats nice, ill try that then
-
i thought it working, when i tried to use the drive it said no disk inserted but then it went crazy again when i put the disk in, maybe the disks the problem
edit: it was the disk, i have no idea whats wrong with it now argh, it was the last one!
