I'm running Windows XP Home and since the grand kids used the computer last week, whenever I open a webpage it comes up in "restore down" view instead of it's usual "maximised "view. So to fill the screen I have to click on the "maximise" symbol every time. Could someone please tell me how to set things up so that when I open a page it fills the screen? I've fiddled around for ages without success. Tia. Satch

If you're using the quick launch icon on the start bar, you can right click it and click properties. On the shortcut tab, in about the middle of the screen there should be something called run. Click the down arrow and select Maximized and then click ok. Hope this helps. :)

Nice catch Panda25.
Can a mod please move this too?
-
Thanks Calum.
What does "Can a mod please move this too?" mean? Please elaborate.
-
Questions aren't supposed to be asked in the Database; it's for solutions to common problems. This should be in Microsoft Windows, not the FAQ Solution Database. Calum is asking for this thread to be moved there by a "mod", or moderator.
I'm a moderator. Trouble is, I can't find a "Move" button. I see, Reply, Split, Remove, Modify, Print, Send, and Notify... So until the local Administrator comes along, this thread is stuck here. :(
Post in this thread, but expect it to be moved soon. :)

Dilbert:
To move a topic in the FAQ Section
Go to the main post
Click "Modify"
Then click the "Additional Options" link
And select "Move"
Then Post/save
and it will ask you were to move it to
Moving it now...
And if you move a topic to "Others" select the first "Others" on the list or it just goes back into the FAQ section somewhere

Ah. Thanks. ;)
-
Can I ask another question while we're sort of on the subject?
Why does it not show you as Moderators any more?
It just says Dilbert, then Egghead, and Zylstra, then Expert - nothing to say you are a Moderator.
Any idea why?
Admin probably explained it already and I've either forgotten or missed it.
I notice he has Administrator and Mentor.

The title heading "Global Moderator" or "Moderator" are not listed on these boards. (Were still mods, dont worry :))
Its just not included as a feature to display that status.
Nevertheless, if you need a moderator, just click the "Report to Moderator" button. No worry. (Use when necessary)

Thanks Y'all for hijacking my thread. ::)

Odd , it should be down at the bottom of the page ....see screenshot.

Satch, didn't Reply #1 solve your problem?

Attached is an image showing the window Panda25 mentioned.
Right click on the shortcut used to open the browser, I am using IE as an example.
Then choose properties and open the Shortcut tab.
Choose Maximized from the drop down list, then click Apply, then OK.
Start the browser again - does it work now?
If not, open the browser and maximize it.
Then close it through File --> Exit.
Star it again - is it maximized now?
Hope this helps, and sorry for hijacking your thread.

Just kiddin' you about the hijack Calum and I'm afraid neither of your suggestions were successful. Thanks anyway. Satch.

Satch, didn't Reply #1 solve your problem?
In a word Fred, no, but thanks for asking.
I thought I may get round the problem by using the "system restore" facility, but no matter what date I choose as a restore point, I'm informed on the restart that the task was not possible. ???
